Upon completion of the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Coahoma Community College, the graduate will be prepared for professional nursing practice role to:

1. Make a final decision by using clinical reasoning based on the observation and assessment of a client’s presenting situations, identifying the prioritized client concern, and generate the best possible evidenced-based solutions in order to deliver safe client care. |

2. Use clear, concise effective written, electronic, and verbal communication skills as well as function within their scope of practice to foster mutual respect, shared decision making with other health team members to enhance client satisfaction and health outcomes. |

3. Navigate software required in the program as well as in the clinical setting to organize information and use technology to communicate with the interdisciplinary team, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision making to improve client outcomes and nursing practice. |

4. Perform a focused and/or comprehensive assessment on assigned client and develop a holistic plan of care that is priority-based using the nursing process as well as recognize an individual’s preferences, values, and needs. Respect the client or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate, age, and culturally appropriate safe care. |
Professionalism & Leadership |
5. Demonstrate accountability for the delivery of their nursing practice consistent with the American Nurses Association Code (ANA) of Ethics and other regulatory nursing agencies. In addition, the graduate must be able to influence others’ behavior to meet client needs using critical thinking, problem solving, and communications skills. |
Quality Improvement & Evidence-Based Practice |
6. Identify, evaluate, and use the best current evidence practice coupled with clinical expertise and consideration of client’s preferences, experience, and values to make practice decisions. The graduate will also use data to monitor the outcomes of care processes and utilize methods to test changes for continuous quality improvement and safety of healthcare system. |

7. Minimize risk of harm to clients, colleagues, and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance; participate in analyzing errors and designing systems to improvements. |
